Welcome to my newly created blog where I will be sharing my own personal knowledge with
anyone who is interested in plants for their own home. For now, I will be focusing on indoor plants I have accumulated over the years or have been gifted to me. I hope to give you enough knowledge so, you yourself, can grow or invest in the same plant and thrive!
Today I will be discussing the Pothos Ivy, Can also be known as the Devil's Ivy. The are well over 10 varieties you can grow to fit your style. There is so much about this tropical Vine I can talk about. First, they are known to be the best at purifying your air. Second, you can take cutting from your pothos and have multiple new plants in glass bottles. I have added white rocks to mine to add a little style. You could also tact the vine up one of your walls to add a pop of color to your room. Lastly, Pothos are fast growing so you won't be waiting around too long to see growth. I will start with the watering process and move my way down through taking care of this wonderful houseplant
Watering
The watering process for Pothos is fairly easy. This Plant is great for anyone who travels or simply works a lot because the pothos can withstand a little bit of neglect. It is ok if you water your plant anywhere between 3-6 days. Pothos actually like their soil to dry out in between dedicated watering days. As most plants, make sure to have good drainage in your pot. This step is always a must when shopping for that perfect pot.
Sunlight
Pothos prefer bright indirect light. You never want to place in full sun. This would result in your leaves burning. These plants thrive in temps of 70-90 degrees fahrenheit.
Toxicity
Yes , Pothos are poisonous to cat and dogs. If ingested, you pet could
suffer from vomiting, irritation of the mouth and tongue, increased salivation and much
more not so good things. I always suggest to research any plant you bring into your home especially
if you own a pet. Make sure to keep in a high area away from your pet
Pest Problems
You might deal with are Mealy bugs, spider mites or scale.
