Care Tips for your Fiddle Leaf:

Watering:

When it comes to watering your fiddle leaf, you need to make you are on a consistent schedule. They tend to overreact if you are off. This does depend on the season as well as your environment in your home. Take into consideration your ac unit or any drafts you might have going through your home. This can effect your plants growth. Keep in mind the pot you have your plant in too. I have another blog about this very topic. You want to be sure to stay on a consistent watering schedule as well as fertilizing, especially when in it's growing season. If you stray off your watering schedule, your fiddle leaf will begin to show you signs with brown spots appear on the leaf. Brown spots can also be from not having enough humidity. Make sure when watering, you are allowing the water to drain all the way out on the pot

Lighting:

When it comes to lighting for your fiddle leaf, you want to make sure you are providing it with ample bright indirect light not direct sunlight. This will result in burnt leaves. They will not grow if left ina d ark shaded area either. You can acclimate a fiddle leaf to be able to handle full sun but that would require a bit of time if that is something you are willing to do. For now you just need to provide your fiddle leaf with bright indirect light and try not to move your fiddle leaf around. This will irritate it and it will show. Be sure to slightly rotate your fiddle leaf(all your plants) about every two weeks. By rotating, you are encouraging growth all around the plant.

Maintenance:

You want to be sure to wipe the leaves on your fiddle leaf at least every week. They can collect a lot of dust over time. This can cause the pores to become clogged. In able for these monster leaves to keep growing and absorb enough light, they will need to be wiped down with a warm damp cloth or paper towel every now and then. You can make this a special routine as a way to get close and connect with your plant. By wiping down the leaves will encourage more photosynthesis for your fiddle leaf.

Poisonous:

The fiddle leaf is toxic to cats and dogs if eaten. It can also cause oral irritation, drooling and even vomiting if really bad. Please keep an eye out on your Pets + Plants. You want to be able to identify what was ingested if it ever comes to that. Be sure to stay calm and collected. Then immediately contact your local pet hospital if you are worried your pet ingested a lot and is suffering.

I put here a column gallery to see the growth process in a fiddle leaf. Please enjoy! I hope all of this information was or is of help. Be sure to check out any other plant blogs for more tips. Stay tuned for more blogs coming soon as well as videos. #happygardening
